1.  Ear tip complete; cotton protects ear canal during sterile preparation with Betadine scrub and Alcohol.
2. Hemostat gently placed for 3/8 inch removal of ear tip. Do not crush tissue with hemostat.
3. A straight cut with straight scissors results in less bleeding than if using a scalpel blade.
4. Continued gentle pressure from the hemostat prevents bleeding before coagulant powder is applied.
5. Kwikstop coagulant powder mixed with lidocaine and epinephrine makes a paste, reduces pain and stops bleeding.

Apply liberally with a Q-tip. If bleeding should occur after hemostat removal, reapply hemostat and repeat this procedure.
