What is Foster Care?
Forster care for kittens means caring for the kittens until they are old enough to be put up for adoption. With new born kittens it usually involves bottle feeding. Older kittens typically just need to be looked after and require normal feeding. Some may need to be socialized so that they are comfortable around people. Typically there is a demand for both - especially during kitten season - so if you perfer to foster one over the other you can let the person or group your working with know and they will call you when the need arises. Once the kittens are old enough they are put up for adoption. You can volunteer to foster care as often as you like or even become a regular foster home - it's really up to you.
Foster care is crucial part of the TNR process and is incredibly rewarding.
