Apparent severe conditions may be less serious than you think.  This feral Tabby DSH Spayed Female was living in the wild with continual growth of this benign tumor.  It was eroded and maggot filled, yet she was functioning normally, an indication that it was not malignant.  After removal, she was held for 10 days, sutures were removed and she was returned to her colony as a normal cat.  The tumor weighed 4 lbs.
