What is a Caregiver?

Caregivers are people living in the community that feed and care for feral cat colonies.  A colony can consist from 2 cats to 50 cats.  These people are typically known as the "cat lady" although the fact is ther are just as many "cat men" out there.  We encourage all idividuals to to practice responsible colony management, which includes spaying/neutering all cats in the colony, proper feeding and shelter techniques, building good neighborhood relationships, and reaching out to others when in need of assistance.

If you are new to colony management but would like to learn more, here is a link to Alley Cat Allies resource center.  They pretty much cover everything you need to successfully manage a health colony.

If you are interested in caregiving but don't see anything in your area, either contact a HUB in your area or contact us.
